Eventbrite: A Solopreneur's Secret Weapon for Successful Online Events

If you're an online educator, coach, or consultant struggling to get the word out about your virtual events then you're not alone!

It's so easy to fall into the trap of spending hours on social media trying to attract attendees, only to end up with a handful of sales (or none!) & that awful sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach, telling you…

Hm, mm.

Been there, done that!

This is why – this blog is all about my recent experiment using Eventbrite…

as a platform for curating, selling and hosting my online workshops and webinars (both free and paid), and how I stumbled upon its [epic] potential to become the ultimate tool for solopreneurs looking to boost their online event game.

So, what exactly is Eventbrite?

In its most basic form, it’s an event and ticketing platform. However, throughout the last few months of hosting webinars and workshops via the platform, I have discovered it can be so much more than that!

Eventbrite is a holistic events-centred platform that helps you to create, promote, and sell tickets to events of all types and sizes – including online events. Whether you're hosting a virtual webinar, workshop or live challenge, Eventbrite allows you to easily manage your event from start to finish - which is a breath of fresh air to those of us that have been juggling multiple tools and complex workflows just to host a single event! 🙄

And, how can Eventbrite help us specifically as solopreneurs?

As solopreneurs, managing our businesses can be overwhelming as we are wearing all the hats and need to keep up with all the moving parts of the business. From keeping track of tasks to managing projects and deadlines, it can definitely be challenging to stay on top of everything!

You're likely juggling multiple tasks and don't have time to waste on complicated event planning. Eventbrite streamlines the process by providing [fabulous] easy-to-use tools for creating and customising your event page, setting ticket prices and quotas, and managing attendee information.

But the icing on the cake is the [very cool] built-in marketing features – think email campaigns, integrated social media campaigns and paid ads, and targeted promotion across the Eventbrite platform itself. Add all of this to the organic discovery element of the events listings on the platform and you’ve got one hell of a marketing assistant on your hands! Aka reaching a larger audience and increasing ticket sales just got a whole lottt easier 🙌🏼

Highlights & fave features

As a solopreneur myself, these are some of my fave features & benefits of Eventbrite vs other webinar hosting platforms:

  • No upfront costs & a fair pricing structure (allowing business growth without forking out a pricey monthly subscription!)

  • Built-in set-and-forget marketing framework & clever sales-on-autopilot algorithm

  • Free online resource library & video tutorials via Eventbrite Academy

  • The brand ‘follow’ feature that allows fans and attendees to follow your events page & be notified when you post a new event (read: more sales from repeat customers)

And I know this is just the tip of the iceberg because I haven’t even delved into their more advanced tools yet! It really does have some truly powerful features that you can tap into without breaking the bank and/or losing your mind with overwhelm.

In a nutshell

If you’re looking for a platform that will allow you to dip your toes into the world of events – both virtual and in-person – and want to build out your brand offering via educational events, virtual webinars, workshops and online classes then Eventbrite is definitely worth checking out.
